HELD - by Natalie Grant

Posted by Ruth72

My first blog, ever..hehe. I feel good today...

Just downloaded Natalie Grant's music, 18 songs in total from that 'Wayar Limau' haha...that's her on the right corner of this page>>>. I find her a very talented gospel singer & was captured by her song 'Held' which I randomly downloaded last time without having the slightest idea of who she is.
At first I thought that she's Natalie Imbruglia (also my fav singer) and she does sound a bit like her. Well...this is Natalie Grant. Her song 'Held' is breath-taking. Praise The Lord for giving people talents to entertain and stir the hearts of His other children. This song in actual fact reminds me of the hard times I faced last year, when I fell apart and thought that there's nothing left to be done, and it was then when God held me close in His arms. PTL.

HELD
(The Lyrics)

Two months is too little...
They let him go
They had no sudden healing
To think that providence would take a child from his mother
while she prays...Is appaling...

Who told us we'd be rescued?
What has changed and why should we be saved...from nightmares?
We're asking 'Why this happens, to us who have died to live?
It's unfair...

Chorus:

This is what it means...to be held
How it feels...
When the sacred is torn from your life, and you survive...

This is what it is...to be loved
And to know that the promise was
When everything fell...We'd be held.

This hand is bitterness
We want to taste it, let the hatred know our sorrow...
The wise hands open slowly to lilies of the valley and tomorrow...

(Chorus) This is what it means...to be held...***

Bridge:

If hope is born of...suffering
If this is only the...beginning
Can we not wait for one hour
Watching for our Saviour?

(Chorus)
This is what it means...to be held
How it feels
When the sacred is torn from your life, and you survive...

This is what it...is to be loved
And to know that
the promise was
When everything fell we'd be held.
